Each month the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board publishes the previous month’s figures, and each month we turn the White Rock and South Surrey rows into a written report: benchmark prices, sales, listings, the share of homes selling, and a plain read on what it means. Every edition stays here, so the trend is on the record and not just this month’s headline.
The board’s August figures, released 2 September: detached $1,649,200 (−7.5% in a year), townhome $820,300 (−11.1%), condo $550,800 (−6.2%); 7.8%, 11.8% and 16.2% of listings sold in the month. Seven pages this month: the peninsula by neighbourhood and price band, what buyers paid for, and what drives the market. The current edition is on the market report page, free by email.
The board’s July figures: detached $1,647,200 (−9.7% in a year), townhome $834,900 (−10.2%), condo $546,900 (−6.1%); 10%, 13% and 17% of listings sold in the month. Four pages as published, open to read.
Source for every edition: Fraser Valley Real Estate Board MLS® Summary and Home Price Index for the data month named. Benchmarks are the board’s index prices, never averages. Analysis is Hamish Ross’s own. The same figures are published for software at /api/market-report.json (current edition).
