The Year of the Ox

2021 is a year of the metal Ox. It starts today, February 12th and lasts until January 31st, 2022 and the Ox is the second of the 12 zodiac animals. Chinesenewyear.net tells us that according to one myth, the Jade Emperor said the order of the zodiac animals would be decided by the order they arrived to his party. The strong and steady Ox was about to be the first to arrive, but quick and clever Rat tricked Ox into giving him a ride. Just as they arrived to the party, Rat jumped down and landed ahead of Ox. Because of this, Ox became the second animal in the Chinese zodiac.

Having an honest nature, the Ox is known for diligence, dependability, strength and determination. They are low key and never look for praise or to be the center of attention. This trait often hides their skills and talents but they will receive recognition through their hard work.
